Buying and Drying Wood
This course has been designed to give woodworkers the confidence and knowledge to purchase and condition hard and softwoods for use in their home workshop.

Apart from the considerable savings that can be made by drying timber at home, sympathetically conditioned wood is easier to work and consequently, more pleasure to work with.

A programme of talks, visits and demonstrations has been arranged which will introduce students to timber selection, conversion, storage, conditioning and drying.

Duration: One day
Location: The Little Surrenden Workshops

General Course Content
Timber technology - Conversion, storage, conditioning, kiln drying.

Includes visits to timber merchant, portable band mill demonstration, air and solar drying installations. De-humidifying chamber.
